Commercial EV Charging Station Installation

Charging is becoming an expectation for tenants, employees and customers. APEX Electric installs commercial EV charging for workplaces, apartment communities, retail centres and fleets — designed so today's two ports can become tomorrow's ten without re-trenching the lot.

Design for the build-out, not the pilot

The expensive part of commercial charging is not the chargers — it is the trenching, the conduit and the distribution. Installing two ports without provisioning for the eventual ten means paying for that civil work twice.

We design the underground infrastructure and panel capacity for the target count, then populate it in phases as demand and budget allow.

Power management and demand charges

On a commercial rate, a bank of chargers all pulling at once can set a demand peak that costs more than the energy itself. Networked load management staggers and throttles charging to hold the site under a defined ceiling.

We size the service against a realistic simultaneity factor and configure the management system so the peak is controlled by design.

Networking, access and billing

Whether you need RFID access for tenants only, payment for public use, or open charging for employees, the choice of network shapes the ongoing cost as much as the hardware does.

We install across the major networked platforms, commission the stations onto your account, and confirm access control and reporting work before handover.

What this covers

  • Fleet depot charging
  • Load studies & service upgrades

Questions

Commercial EV Charging
questions.

The things people ask us most about this work.

Start from your parking count, tenant or employee EV adoption, and dwell time. We usually recommend provisioning conduit and capacity for a larger count than you install on day one.

Not necessarily. A load study often shows existing capacity is sufficient once power management is in place. Where an upgrade is genuinely required, we coordinate it with Ameren.

Yes, with networked stations that support payment or per-user billing. We commission the stations onto the network and verify the billing configuration.

Utility and state programmes for commercial charging infrastructure change periodically. We check what is currently available for your site and handle the application where one applies.
