Built on
Doing It Right.
APEX Electric is an electrical contractor based in O'Fallon, Missouri, working on homes and businesses across St. Charles County and the neighbouring St. Louis metro.
A local shop,
not a call centre.
We work out of O'Fallon, which puts most of St. Charles County inside a twenty-minute drive. When we say same-day on an urgent call, that is a statement about geography rather than about optimism — we are not dispatching a truck from the far side of the metro and hoping traffic cooperates.
Electrical contracting has a reputation problem, and a lot of it is deserved. Arrival windows that mean nothing. Hourly billing that turns a diagnosis into an open-ended meter. Work that quietly skips the permit and surfaces years later in a home inspection. Every one of those is a choice a contractor makes, and we made the other one.
So: fixed written prices before the work starts. Permitted work, with us meeting the inspector on site. Diagnosis before parts, because a tripping breaker is a symptom and swapping it out just removes the warning. And an explanation you can actually follow of what was wrong and what we did about it.
We run residential and commercial as genuinely separate disciplines. A home service call and a tenant build-out need different scheduling, different documentation and different code sections. Treating them as the same job is how contractors end up mediocre at both.

Work performed to
How we
actually work.
Electrical contracting has a reputation problem, and it is mostly earned. Here is the standard we hold ourselves to — judge us against it.
Fixed quotes, not hourly guesses
You get a price for the job before we start it. If we find something behind the wall that changes the scope, we stop and tell you what it means before we carry on — we do not discover it on the invoice.
Permitted and inspected
Permits get pulled and we meet the inspector ourselves. Unpermitted work surfaces at resale and at insurance renewal, and it costs far more to prove after the fact than to do properly once.
Diagnosis before parts
A tripping breaker is a symptom. We find the cause with meters and thermal imaging rather than swapping components until the symptom goes away, because the second approach just removes the warning.
Scheduled around your operation
Commercial work happens after hours by default so you do not lose a trading day. Residential work gets an arrival window we actually keep, and a call if anything changes.
Explained in plain language
You get told what was wrong, what we did and what we would keep an eye on — without the trade jargon and without being talked into work the house does not need.
Safety is not a slogan
Lockout/tagout, arc-flash PPE and proper testing on every job, including the small ones. The corners that get cut on a quick call are the ones that hurt people.
No mystery,
start to finish.
Most complaints about electricians come down to not knowing what happens next or what it will cost. This is the whole sequence.
- 01
Call or send the details
Tell us what is happening and where. For most residential work a short conversation and a couple of photos are enough for us to know what we are walking into.
- 02
On-site assessment
We look at the actual conditions — the panel, the service size, the run — and where it matters we perform a load calculation rather than estimating from the outside.
- 03
A fixed written quote
One price for the defined scope, with the options laid out where there is more than one legitimate way to solve it. No pressure to decide on the spot.
- 04
Permit and schedule
The permit gets pulled and we book a window that works around your household or your trading hours, including evenings and weekends.
- 05
The work, done clean
Drop cloths down, circuits labeled, debris taken with us. You get told what changed and shown anything that is worth understanding about your system.
- 06
Inspection and sign-off
We meet the inspector, close out the permit and hand over the documentation. Nothing gets covered up until it has passed.
Covered, permitted
and accountable.
The paperwork that matters, and why it matters to you.
Permitted and inspected
Work that needs a permit gets one, and it is signed off by the inspector before anything is closed up.
General liability insurance
Certificates available on request, and we can name your landlord, property manager or GC as required.
Workers' compensation
Our people are covered on your property. An uninsured contractor's injury can become your liability.
Code-current practice
Work performed to the NEC as adopted in Missouri, plus the local amendments your inspector actually enforces.
