Half the outlets in a room going dead, a breaker that will not stay set, lights that flicker when the dryer runs — these are symptoms, and the fix depends entirely on the cause. APEX Electric diagnoses residential electrical faults properly, with meters and thermal imaging rather than trial and error, then repairs what we find.
A breaker that trips is doing its job. The question is why — an overloaded circuit, a failing appliance, a loose neutral, a damaged cable, or a ground fault somewhere in the run. Replacing the breaker without answering that question just removes the warning.
We isolate the circuit, take real measurements under load, and use thermal imaging to find hot connections behind cover plates. You get told what was actually wrong, in plain language.
Back-stabbed receptacles are the single most common cause of a partially dead circuit — the push-in connection on the back of a cheap outlet loosens over years of thermal cycling. Loose neutrals cause the classic 'lights brighten when the AC starts' symptom and can damage electronics.
Overloaded circuits in older homes are also routine: one 15-amp branch circuit serving a whole floor was normal in 1962 and is not adequate now. Sometimes the honest answer is a new circuit rather than another repair.
A burning or fishy smell near a panel or outlet, a device or cover plate that is hot to the touch, visible scorching, sparks when you plug something in, or a breaker that trips immediately every time you reset it.
Any of these means shut the circuit off at the panel and call. These are the conditions that precede a fire, and they do not resolve on their own.

Yes. We keep after-hours availability for genuine emergencies — burning smells, sparking, a dead service, or water contact with electrical equipment.
Usually moisture somewhere downstream on the circuit, a failing device further along, or a GFCI that has simply worn out. They have a finite lifespan. We trace the circuit to find which it is.
Most often a tripped GFCI upstream that also feeds those outlets, or a failed back-stabbed connection in one receptacle that breaks the run for everything after it. Both are quick to find once the circuit is traced.
Yes, and it is a large part of what we do. We work through inspection findings, correct them to code, and provide documentation for your buyer, seller or insurer.
